Late in my college career, a friend introduced me to Apocalyptica, a cello quartet that transcribes and performs songs by heavy metal bands like Metallica, and composes original material. Upon hearing them for the first time, I felt compelled to write Arrhythmia. Brutal and unrelenting, Arrhythmia has a rough, hard edge that draws from loud, angry rock music and early minimalism.
