You, the Consumer

You, the Consumer began its life as five measures of music for a ‘pastiche’ composition – composer A writes the first five measures, composer B the next five, and so forth. I liked my little contribution enough to develop into something substantial of its own.

A few years later, I revisited this project when asked to write a piece for the NOW Ensemble. 30 seconds of solo piano music has turned into 12 minutes of a ‘theme and funkatations’ for quintet, the focal point of which is based directly on those original five measures.
