Metamorphoses

I was honored to write music for Theatre@First‘s production of Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses, and set out to invoke an atmosphere of mystery and ancient myth, while not being beholden to any specific musical tradition. The play explores the range of Greek mythology (as related in Ovid’s poem), creating an alloy of tragedy, humor, and redemption that was a wonderful challenge to express.
